Who’s writing?
Hi – I’m the marketing manager for North Dakota Tourism and yes, I’m extremely biased about this state. I was raised in the ag-rich, Red River Valley. To me, there is nothing more beautiful than black dirt and carpets of green (or gold) as far as the eye can see. In North Dakota you can explore vast grasslands, unexpected forests and Badlands that look like a mini-Grand Canyon. I’m more of the “explore by snowmobile” type than by foot on the Maah Daah Hey. But “hey,” you never know where adventure will guide us.

Great website and blog Heather. Where did you learn your flair for the written word????

Hi, Heather, from one writer to another. I no longer live in North Dakota, but my late husband and I spent 37 years in Grand Forks, after we returned from a 9-year missionary life in Venezuela. We started a charitable organization, Mission Socorro, and during our time there we helped hundreds (perhaps even thousands) of people who “fell through the cracks” of that thing they call “a system.” That always caused me to wonder, since I never found any system to “the system.”
Anyway, after about 20 years as a pretty successful magazine writer, June 2000 finally saw my dreams come true when my first novel, Dunnottar, was published, and became the No. 1 best-selling Scottish book on Amazon.com . I now have 20 books published (including some set in ND and MN), and life is good! You can find them at http://janetesmithstarbooks.tripod.com
Keep on writing.

I really liked the well-made commercial titled ND Legendary via you tube. Who were the protagonists there?
