Take me out to the ballgame

12 Jun

redhawk logoAll this talk about the baseball draft has got me cravin’ peanuts and Cracker Jack! This weekend, the FM RedHawks have a home stretch against Kansas City. The RedHawks are currently 3.5 games back from the T-Bones of KC, so this weekend’s stretch could help even-things up. Game times are 7:02 p.m. tonight, 6 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. on Sunday, all at Newman Outdoor Field, Fargo.

Congrats to the North Dakotans picked up in the 2009 draft!

Former Fargo North pitcher Tom Ebert was chosen by the Boston Red Sox in the 19th round. Ebert pitched at Florida International this spring.

In the 47th round, the Philadelphia Phillies picked Minot High left-handed pitcher Ryan Bollinger, who will play at Iowa Western Community College.

The Texas Rangers chose Dickinson’s Cole Frenzel in the 48th round. Frenzel has signed a letter of intent to play at Arizona State.
