Sure it’s cold sometimes

08 Jan

So today happens to be the perfect day for making a lot of ice, as in ice-fishing kind of ice.  That’s the positive side of a really cold day.  How do North Dakotans survive the cold?  We just find a lot of fun things to do indoors – like visiting museums, art galleries, movie theathers and shopping malls.  Sometimes, we head to the court or arena for some hot sports action – like watching the Dakota Wizards, UND Fighting Sioux or Bismarck Bobcats – all teams playing at home this weekend.

One really nice thing about North Dakota weather is that we truly experience all seasons here – from breathless heat to breath-freezing cold.  We enjoy the adventure that comes with winter, spring, summer and fall – from snowmobiling to mountain biking.  Maybe this is one of the reasons North Dakota cities are consistently ranked among the healthiest in the U.S.
