Rooting for Jim and the Vikings

11 Jan

Here in North Dakota you’ll find a lot of fans of the Minnesota Vikings NFL team.  There are fans of other teams too, but I’m not going to write about them … with the exception of the friendly foe in the office next door – a fan of “America’s team” as she calls her Cowboys.  This Sunday, I’m crossing fingers and toes that the Vikings crush the Cowboys!

One player we especially root for is Vikings fullback and tight end, Jim Kleinsasser.  Kleinsasser hails from Carrington, North Dakota – a standout high school player who attended the University of North Dakota and was drafted 44th in 1999.  He’s currently being called the best blocking tight end in the league and I’m hoping that the next four (fingers crossed) weeks will be awesome for him and the rest of the Purple crew.

If anyone has any suggestions for friendly bets with my colleague – post clean ideas here!

There are some North Dakota roots in Dallas. Let’s not forget Bismarck native QB “Brooks Bollinger” who is an unrestricted free agent for the Cowboys! And being a strong supporter of all things North Dakota, that is one that I will hang my hat on this weekend…and lest we forget….GO COWBOYS!!
